Selling BHPH Notes: Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about working with a broker, marketing a portfolio to potential buyers, due diligence and closing.
Common Dealer Questions
Every portfolio is different. These answers explain the general process; buyer requirements and final terms depend on the specific transaction.
Is Financial Solutions the buyer?
No. Financial Solutions acts as a BHPH note broker. We help dealers present and market portfolios to appropriate potential third-party buyers. The selected buyer performs its own review, purchases approved receivables and funds the transaction.
Why use a broker instead of going directly to one buyer?
A broker can help organize the opportunity, identify potential buyers that fit the portfolio profile, communicate available terms and coordinate the transaction. This does not guarantee multiple offers or a particular price.
Can Financial Solutions help me decide which accounts to offer for sale?
Yes. Before marketing a proposed sale pool, Financial Solutions can review the accounts you are considering and help identify which receivables may fit the offering and which weaker, poorly performing, recently originated, or nonconforming accounts may be better retained. This is sale-pool selection and portfolio preparation—not concealment. If a buyer requests broader portfolio performance or other information during evaluation or due diligence, it should be provided accurately.
Does Financial Solutions charge the dealer a broker fee?
Not necessarily. Compensation varies by transaction and buyer. In some transactions, Financial Solutions is compensated directly by the buyer and there is no separate brokerage fee charged to the dealer. If a dealer-paid brokerage fee applies to a proposed transaction, it will be disclosed so you can evaluate your actual net proceeds and the complete terms.
Do I have to sell my entire portfolio?
No. Depending on buyer eligibility and transaction requirements, a dealer may explore selling a portion of its receivables rather than the entire portfolio.
What determines what my notes are worth?
Buyer pricing can be affected by payment history, seasoning, balances, remaining terms, collateral, documentation, customer performance, concentration and the overall portfolio profile.
What information do you need first?
Start with basic portfolio information such as approximate number of accounts, principal balance, seasoning, payment performance and your objectives. More detailed documentation can be requested later if the review progresses.
Does requesting a review obligate me to sell?
No. An initial request is for discussion and evaluation. A sale occurs only if you choose to proceed after buyer review, due diligence and agreement on final transaction terms.
How quickly can I get an offer on my BHPH portfolio?
For qualified portfolios, Financial Solutions can typically obtain an initial offer or indication of buyer interest within 24–48 hours after receiving the information needed for review. Timing can vary depending on the portfolio, buyer requirements, and completeness of the information provided. This timeframe is for the initial offer or indication—not final due diligence, closing, or funding.
How quickly can a transaction close?
Timing varies by portfolio, buyer, documentation, due diligence and transaction structure. Complete and organized documentation generally helps the process move more efficiently.
Who funds the transaction?
The selected third-party buyer funds an approved transaction under the final agreed terms. Financial Solutions does not purchase portfolios for its own account.
Can I call before sending data?
Yes. Call 615-414-6708 to discuss what you are considering and what information would be useful for an initial review.
