DEALER GUIDE

What Information Do BHPH Note Buyers Need?

A good first look should tell a potential buyer enough to judge fit without sending sensitive consumer information through an unsecured channel.

Start with portfolio-level information

For an initial broker review, Financial Solutions generally needs enough non-sensitive information to understand the size and general characteristics of the opportunity. Exact buyer requirements vary.

Portfolio size

Approximate number of accounts and unpaid principal balance.

Seasoning

Average or range of months since origination and available payment history.

Performance

High-level information about current, delinquent, or otherwise non-performing accounts.

Contract profile

Typical remaining balances, terms, payment frequency, APR ranges, and geography when relevant.

Account-level data may come next

If a potential buyer has preliminary interest, a more detailed data file may be requested. The exact fields depend on the buyer and transaction. Before sending anything, dealers should understand who will receive the data and use an appropriate secure transfer process.

Do not put consumer PII in a public quote form

Keep sensitive information out of the website form and ordinary email. Do not submit customer names, Social Security numbers, bank information, driver's-license numbers, full account numbers, or other sensitive consumer data unless it is specifically requested through an appropriate secure due-diligence process.

Documents buyers may eventually review

During due diligence, a buyer may request supporting documentation for sampled or selected accounts, such as contracts, payment histories, title/lien information, or other records needed to verify the receivables. Requirements vary by buyer and should be coordinated for the specific transaction.

Why clean data matters

Organized, internally consistent information can make it easier for potential buyers to understand the portfolio and identify questions early. It does not guarantee an offer, price, or closing, but it can reduce avoidable back-and-forth during review.

Financial Solutions coordinates the first look

As the broker, Financial Solutions can help determine what information is appropriate for the initial presentation and what should wait for secure buyer due diligence. Third-party buyers make their own eligibility, pricing, and purchase decisions.
